Road Department

Hazle Township has over 310 streets and roadways with over seventy-five miles of paved roads. Your township is responsible for maintenance and snow removal on these byways.

Road Master, a Road Foreman, and eight employees are the backbone of the Road Department. When additional manpower, equipment, or services are required, local contractors are employed. The Township maintains a fleet of 14 trucks to accomplish this work. Our trucks are capable of hauling 10 tons of materials. Their plow units are wide enough to clear one side of the major routes with one pass. We expect these vehicles to perform major work for many years to come. In addition to necessary roadwork, the Road Department crews also construct new building and accessories for the Township administration as well as the Recreation Authority. They also clean-up areas where illegal dumping occurs. Our skilled crews also assist local civic organizations in their projects at time allows.
